Back in the middle months of 2025 I came across a facebook post on a local forum putting the feelers out about a possible new gallery in Thetford. I commented and was lucky enough to be contacted by the newly founded curator Steven and his wife Jen in August.

My first exhibition runs from 5th October to 5th January 2026 and it has really been a little dream come true, I shed a little tear when I saw my work there on the wall for others to see.

I felt like a bit of a fraud, my work was next to a very established artist whose beautiful works were up for 6 times the price of mine but I tried to just enjoy my moment and let it be a tick in the box ‘have exhibited at a gallery’.

I didnt appreciate the work it takes to get artwork ready for display, the mounting the framing, making sure things are signed, labeled, straight, clean! I did my best but I think framing is a major part to work on in the future. I used amazon frames and mounts because I did not believe for a second anything would sell and I couldn’t take the risk of paying hundreds for framing when I would be unlikely to recoup my costs. I see other artists use the same frames for all their pieces and I think this is the direction I need to head. There is a lovely little framing shop in my home town of Brandon so I think i just need to gradually frame my pieces so I don’t notice the cost!

I was so happy to receive an email from Jen about a month in saying that I had sold a piece and that it was the first piece in the gallery to sell. It settled my feelings of being a fraud and I wonder a lot about who bought the piece ‘August Dream’.

The gallery is really lovely and Steve and Jen have put a lot of work into it, it now has many more artists exhibiting with a wide range of media and styles. I am really grateful for the opportunity. They can be found here.
